    ~ Produced "The Hidden Mind," a special issue on the mind and the brain—one of SA’s 
    bestselling  special issues. Responsibilities included editing, overseeing production schedule 
    and coordination of design, copy, photo and production staff.                                                                       
    ~Produced "Oral and Whole Body Health", a special custom-published issue.

    EDITOR, State of the Wild, Wildlife Conservation Society, Bronx, N.Y.    1/2003 - 6/2005
    Launched a book series focusing on wildlife conservation issues. Conceived structure and 
    content; wrote the book proposal and negotiated the contract with Island Press. Wrote essays;   
    selected and hired contributors, including George Schaller, Sylvia Earle, Carl Safina, Rick Bass, 
    Bill McKibben, and others. Solicited photographs, edited content, handled budgets, managed a 
    staff of three. Worked with a six-person editorial board, Island Press editors, production and 
    copy editors, art director, and book packager. Edited page proofs. Attended conferences and 
    otherwise represented WCS/State of the Wild.
